Vale Shane Morse

It is with great sadness to report to members of a tragic motor vehicle accident which took the life of CWU/CEPU Queensland Branch member, Shane Morse, early this morning.

On behalf of members across the country, we extend our deepest sympathies to Shane’s family, friends and colleagues.

It is always sobering to hear of how quick lives can be taken on our roads – it hits home harder to hear of it happening to one of our own.

Queensland Branch Secretary Cameron Bird said Shane, a Linehaul Driver, was a strong and committed Unionist – he was always looking out for his mates at work.

For those closest to Shane, we understand how traumatic this news may be for you and ask that you reach out to the Queensland Branch Office if there is any assistance you may require during this sad time.

We further encourage you to reach out to Australia Post’s Employee Assistance Program on 1300 687 327, which is completely confidential.

Yours in Unity,

Greg Rayner

National Secretary
