StarTrack (Messenger Post) Courier to absorb Mail Call Courier dispatch operations
Members working in Sydney’s Messenger Post Courier operations at Potts Hill are preparing to relocate to office space at Sydney Gateway Facility (SGF) where their operations will be merged with Mail Call Courier (a wholly owned subsidiary of Australia Post) dispatch operations.
From initial discussions with the Union, Australia Post plans to transfer Mail Call employees on to StarTrack Express Pty Ltd employment contracts – which pay comparatively less than the Australia Post EBA.
We will not allow the same Australia Post corporate work to be undertaken at the desk next to an Australia Post employee at an Australia Post workplace by an employee of StarTrack Express Pty Ltd and your Union intends to fight this cheap cash grab.
Consultation between Post and the Union is still occurring. Should that consultation fail, we intend to escalate the dispute with the Fair Work Commission.
