mail redirection applications

Retail now processing Mail Redirection applications

70% of Mail Redirection Service (MRS) applications are received through retail post offices. After collecting payment and identification verification, the applications were previously sent offsite for processing.

A new WebPos function has now been introduced for members working in post offices to process the MRS application on the spot.

Delivery staff will now be responsible for verifying the applications entered in by retail staff and cross check the quality and integrity of data collected. They will continue to manage the process for any amendments or cancellations of the service.

A standing agenda item on the state level Union and management joint consultative committee will review impacts this change may have on delivery staff.

Members undertaking the trial process in retail have identified an issue with the MODAPTS times allocated to the function for the purpose of assessing staffing levels and a review of those times is now occurring in post offices nominated by the Union.
