Yes Optus

Optus EPA approved

The Fair Work Commission (FWC) has approved the new Optus Employment Partnership Agreement negotiated between Optus and the CWU.

The agreement was previously endorsed by a clear majority of Optus employees. It was approved by Vice President Watson on 12 November and will take effect on and from 4 December.

As previously reported, the Agreement contains a number of improvements on the 2012-2015 EPA, some of which flowed from the award modernisation process and others of which were achieved through the EPA negotiations.

 These include:

  • 30% loading for continuous night shift (previously 20%)
  • guaranteed payments for performing higher duties.
  • enhanced provisions  in relation to emergency leave, domestic violence leave and long service leave.
  • extra 2 weeks added to maximum redundancy payout (now 46 weeks).
