EBA2024

Employees vote to support Agreements

As members may already be aware, ballots of employees held to determine support for Telstra’s EBA2024 offer have been resolved with the majority of participating employees voting yes to support the Agreements.

In summary:

  • 66% of eligible employees voted on the Telstra Limited EA, with 72% voting yes.
  • 68% of eligible employees voted on the Amplitel EA, with 86% voting yes.
  • 69% of eligible employees voted on the InfraCo EA, with 69% voting yes.
  • 45% of eligible employees voted on the Retail Stores EA, with 86% voting yes.

As a reminder, the following key outcomes were secured by your CWU negotiating team as part of the bargaining process:

  • Protection of all current EBA conditions – including Telstra’s withdrawal from controversial split shift and minimum engagement changes;
  • Increasing the Retail relocation allowance from $21.92 to $30;
  • Essential customer service allowance increased by 25% for the first year, then in line with ongoing pay increases;
  • Workstream wage outcomes consisting of 4% in year one, 3.5% year two, 3% year three; and
  • Job Family wage outcomes consisting of the above movements being allocated to a pay pool, with guaranteed minimums of 3% year one, 2.5% year two and 2% year three for those who achieve a performance rating of 3.

Although Telstra workers felt that the wage offer was below the mark, it is clear that these outcomes were significant enough for employees to vote to support the Agreements in the ballots.

Telstra is now preparing to commence the approval process with the Fair Work Commission and your Union will seek to be covered by the Agreements as part of that process.

We are looking forward to enforcing these EBA outcomes and maximising the benefits available to members from those Agreements over the next three years.

In the meantime, should you require any further information, please contact your Branch Official.
