Bargaining for a new Enterprise Agreement in Telstra is continuing with the most recent meeting being held on Thursday 13 August.
As reported in previous bulletins, there remains a number of items on which the parties have yet to reach agreement.
CWU members who have recently participated in hook-ups and other consultations have identified the proposed changes to redundancy/redeployment procedures as a major obstacle to agreement. In particular, there is a concern the proposed procedures will be used to performance manage employees out of the company.
CWU negotiators have conveyed these concerns to Telstra and discussion of the proposal is ongoing.
Phasing out of Workstream arrangements (through closing the Workstream option off to new employees) is another unresolved issue as are proposed changes to emergency duty which would reduce the minimum overtime payment from 3 hours to 1 hour in cases where the duty was performed from home.
The parties will meet again on Tuesday 18 August.
