Visionstream greenfields contract extended

Visionstream has announced that its contract to roll out the NBN to greenfields sites has been extended for two years with an option for a further two at the end of that period.

The contract covers construction in Victoria, Queensland and Tasmania and follows Service Stream’s confirmation of similar contract extension covering NSW, South Australia, Western Australia and the Northern Territory earlier this week.

The contract will be for $91 and covers the design, construction and commissioning of pit, pipe and fibre optic cables for new estates in the three regions.

It is in addition to Visionstream’s current contract for brownfields (i.e. existing premises) NBN roll-out work in Tasmania. That roll-out has been subject to ongoing conflicts between Visionstream and its sub-contractors over both the level of rates and payment schedules and between Visionstream and NBN Co over the initial contract price.
