The precedent set by the employer in sacking a 40 year rail veteran, for defending himself one out against a number of attackers while at work, is a dangerous injustice.
Anyone of us would have done the same to try to insure our own and passenger safety, under the conditions faced by this conductor.
Let's get along on Thursday for half an hour and back-in the Rail, Tram and Bus Union in their support for this fellow-worker.
This rally is over a unfair sacking, and that where you can, you attend:
Date: Thursday 10 July
Time: 1:00 pm
Location: Steps of Southern Cross Station
Hope to see you there.
Thank you,
Dave Kerin
